Missed ‘la plus haute saison’ for travel to St. Bart’s? Too late in planning an escape to this French Island to let the salt, sea, and air cure winter boredom? While it is no substitute for the pleasures of travel, you can surround yourself year-round with symbols of the tranquil beaches and refreshing waters with a purchase from the St. Bart’s Furniture Collection by Andrianna Shamaris. In addition to relieving the winter doldrums, designer Shamaris realized that the tropical conditions of St. Bart’s cure teak beautifully, as well. The collection, which is crafted from weathered or white-washed teak and often accented with an aqua resin, was designed to mimic the aqua water and white sand beaches of this picturesque destination.

Since its introduction in 2012, the pieces have been in demand in homes all over the world. While Shamaris recollects recently shipping to “Ibiza”, she notes that the collection also has tremendous appeal in urban settings, such as her flagship location – New York City. Uncertain if this collection would complement the decor of a modern city dwelling? According to Shamaris “The organic look is the new modern.” She further notes,”It is a very versatile collection.” There are big pieces (dining tables) and “little jewels – truly offering something for any sized surroundings.

When it comes to accessorizing, Shamaris recommends trying a blue and white ikat print that she finds coordinates well with many items in the collection. She also recently acquired textiles from Africa that she expects will also be complementary.
