L ocated along the hip Paseo de La Reforma boulevard in Mexico City, Jerry Jacobs Design’s latest project for a long time client is a 2,500 square foot Pied-à-Terre. The client, a Mexican art collector, houses Mexican masterworks by Cuevas, Merida, Reyes, Rojo, Rubalcava, Tamayo, and Valenzuela within the three bedroom, three bath space.
The apartment was gutted and reformed to create a conic-shaped space that reflects the street angle and provides a focal point to the living and dining area. The office and powder room are wrapped in glass and mirror forming a prism-like space all enhanced with walls of Venetian plaster and custom built-in cabinetry throughout the apartment.
The minimalist furnishing throughout, as well as the minimalist-style artworks reflect the client’s preference for Modern Mexican art. The clean low ceiling space provides the perfect sanctuary to contemplate the art and even take a small siesta.
