Kureck-Jones: The Best Part of This Month’s New York Spaces Magazine
The work of the firm Kureck-Jones is the best part of this month’s issue of New York Spaces magazine (Volume 10, Number 4, July-August 2013). The duo, John Kureck and Doug Jones designed an East Hampton retreat for a client that is warm, layered, and inviting.
The East Hampton home is refreshingly “un-decorated”, not overstyled and not too trendy – something we at The Design Life Network refer to as “casual luxury”. Both designers studied art and that training may be responsible for their sensitivity to layering; making the space more livable containing many scales. The colors are largely neutral and warm with Danish wood accents. The space is neither too bold or cold and modern; and best of all, it does NOT look like a boutique hotel.
