Episode 058: Jessica Davis
Jessica Davis Launches Lifestyle Firm
Jessica Davis is the founder of Nest Studio LLC, a lifestyle firm specializing in boutique hardware and interior design. Jess is also the voice behind the Nest Studio blog, covering fashion, food, interiors, and stylish living with young children.
Nest Studio officially launched in 2012 with the introduction of the Facet Collection. Jess designed the Collection after a frustrating search for beautiful hardware inspired her to tailor-make decorative pieces to fit her aesthetic. The business has since grown by leaps and bounds, spurred by the release of the Transparency Series, fabricated from a sophisticated mix of brass and acrylic, and most recently the Classic Series. With new items in the works that involve mixed materials and high-end finishes, Nest is at the forefront of decorative hardware innovation.
Owned and Operated by a Team of Working Mothers
Entirely woman-owned and operated by a talented team of working mothers, Nest Studio is socially-conscious and proud to rely on US based manufacturers and suppliers to help create its unique and inspiring hardware for high-end interiors.
In addition to her hardware design, Jess also leads the interiors team of Nest Studio as Creative Director. A self-described ‘design geek’, Jess transitioned a childhood obsession with home design magazines — she submitted backyard landscape designs to Southern Living as a child, to no acclaim — into an Art History degree at Princeton University and a Master’s Degree in Interior Design from The New England School of Art and Design. She has worked as a producer on Bob Vila’s “Home Again,” and spent eight years as a member of Wilson Associates’ New York and LA teams, where she focused on international high-end hospitality projects. Jess draws from a wide range of design inspiration, based on insights gained through her childhood years living in Australia, Hong Kong and Dallas and adult years in New York, New Jersey, Boston, Brooklyn and Los Angeles — if something creates drama, adds texture, feels local, provides quiet sophistication, and occasionally sparkles, it will likely be dear to her heart.
