Episode 055: Natasha Baradaran

Natasha Baradaran Interior Design
Natasha Baradaran is inspired by the richness of her diverse cultural background, from Southern California to Italy, as well as her Persian lineage, Baradaran’s point of view fuses classical, European design traditions with the exoticism of Middle Eastern arts, seasoned with the laid back luxury of Southern California. With a goal of creating artistic, elegant spaces that remain livable, Natasha relishes opportunities to mix the “old with the new” and frequently injects unique pieces in unexpected ways. She passionately believes that every residential space should reflect the client’s lifetime of experiences; rather than that of the interior designer and mines her client’s homes to find pieces that reflect their signature style.

Natasha’s Background
Born in Los Angeles, Natasha Baradaran received her Bachelors of Arts degree from USC, her Master of Arts degree from Columbia University, and attended UCLA’s School of Interior Design. Natasha started her career at the renowned firm Wilson and Associates, where, as a senior designer, she designed numerous high-end hospitality projects around the world, including luxury hotels, five-star restaurants, spas and corporate offices. In 2000, she founded Natasha Baradaran Interior Design, which has grown into a full service design firm providing interior design, interior architecture and construction management.

Natasha’s Current Work
Natasha Baradaran and her current portfolio is varied and includes historical preservation projects in Lake Como and London, and new construction residences in Dubai, Vietnam and Milan. Baradaran’s most recent stateside projects include the design of a contemporary home in the Pacific Palisades for a celebrity client, an oceanfront, modernist estate in Montecito, a contemporary Hollywood Hills home for an entertainment executive, and the design of beachfront offices for a private equity firm in Santa Monica.

Natasha’s Product Design
Spring 2014 will see Baradaran’s foray into product design, as she premiers a capsule line of furniture inspired by a lifelong passion for the craft of jewelry making. Creating forms that take cues from the vocabulary of fine jewelry, Baradaran complements her brand’s vision for artistic, stylish and integrally created designs with this premier furniture collection.

Natasha Baradaran resides in Beverly Hills with her husband, a real estate attorney, and two young daughters. They continue to maintain a summer home in Italy, where she enjoys traveling with her family as well as visiting her favorite antique stores.
