Episode 044: Laura Umansky
Laura Umansky is a Houston-based interior designer best known for her luxurious, livable interiors. Her signature Classically Current© style has gained global recognition for bridging the gap between high design and practical living. She combines clean lines with an unexpected infusion of color to create a comfortable, yet bold aesthetic.
In 2006, Laura Umansky launched Laura U Interior Design – which is headquartered in Houston, Texas, with an additional design studio in Aspen, Colorado. Her firm has been at the forefront of an evolving industry and continues to offer clients turnkey home solutions that are infused with personality and distinction.
Laura’s Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas at Austin and Master’s degree in Architecture from the University of Houston are at the foundation of her unique perspective that seamlessly integrates art, structure and functionality.
Over the years, Laura’s work has been celebrated with prestigious honors and awards, including: Best of Houzz; National Gold List from LUXE Interiors + Design and numerous ASID awards for outstanding interiors.
This year, she released her debut line of original products, Frost + Ember – a capsule collection of tabletop linens for the winter season.
Laura – an active member of ASID and AIA – currently resides in Houston with her husband, Michael, and twin daughters, Liv and Ryan and travels between the company’s headquarters in Houston and Aspen.
