EPISODE 022: TOMA CLARK HAINES (THE ANTIQUE DIVA)

Toma Clark Haines is The Antiques Diva® – Chief Executive Diva of The Antiques Diva® & Co European Tours.

An American who has lived abroad 15 years, it has been said that Clark Haines is conquering countries faster than Napoleon. Working with a team of locally-based agents, The Antiques Diva® & Co has become Europe’s largest antiques touring company, offering customized antiques buying tours in 8 countries to both tourists (mere shopping mortals) and the trade (antique dealers and interior designers). Her favorite part of her job is stocking client’s stores across the pond and creating new trends in home fashion.

When this stylemaker is not on a buying tour Toma Clark Haines is also a freelance travel and design writer, an international public speaker, an interior decorator and social media guru. She is a champagne connoisseur, a vintage Chanel addict and her hobbies include driving fast cars and gourmet cooking. Traveling extensively for work, she divides her time between her home in Berlin, Germany and traveling in each of her company’s tour countries. Her greatest challenge in life is remembering when she wakes up each morning whether to greet the day with a Buongiorno, Bonjour, Guten Tag or simply Good Day!

Since opening in 2008 The Antiques Diva® & Co has become Europe’s largest antiques touring company, offering customized, private one-on-one antiques buying tours in 8 countries – France, Belgium, England, Holland, Germany, Denmark, Sweden and Italy. We work with both private individuals (tourists) and the trade (antique dealers, interior designers, hoteliers and developers, etc). Our team of 18 locally based Diva Guides are well-versed in the local culture, language, and best local sources for antiques – whether that be the local flea markets, antique warehouses or private, by-appointment-only antique stores.

Toma Clark Haines offers a wide range of tour options, customizing them to your budget, style and time frame. You tell them when you want to go and they take you there. On tour they translate, negotiate and liaise with a shipper to help get your purchases home sweet home across the pond.

Clients book tours a la carte: by the day and by the country. A tour may be as simple as a 1 day, 1 country tour or as varied as a 5 country, 2 week tour. As all tours are private you never travel with a stranger.

For those times when you can’t travel abroad to source antiques in person The Antiques Diva & Co also offers Antique Buying Services for trade professionals such as Interior Designers, Antique Dealers, and Store Owners.
