Bergdorf Goodman Christmas Windows 2013
For the first time ever, lux retailer, Bergdorf Goodman held an event to reveal their Christmas windows – Holidays on Ice. The 2013 spectacular was MC’d by Linda Fargo, Senior Vice-President of Fashion and Store Presentation Director and Bravo TV’s consummate New Yorker, Andy Cohen. The night began with an unexpected surprise, when the press event photographers’ ranks swelled with the addition of paparazzi who had been on the trail of Kim Kardashian who was privately shopping at the store.
Post celeb citing, the crowd was treated to a De La Guarda-style, mountain-climbing dance/repel by a small troupe down the face of Bergdorf Goodman’s iconic building. The building, erected in 1928, was also front-and-center in a new documentary on the store “Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf’s (2013)” available on Netflix. The performers wore glow suits, dropped glitter snow, and danced their way down several stories.
The Bergdorf Goodman Christmas Windows 2013 were under the direction of sixteen-year veteran, David Hoey, Senior Director of Visual Presentation. The theme, Holidays on Ice, is a fun and unexpected play on the word ‘holidays’. Each of the windows represented holidays that happen throughout the year – not just Christmas. Special days included: Valentine’s Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Arbor Day, and others each imagined with an ice theme.
Arbor Day and ice.
Thanksgiving and ice.
Independence Day/4th of July and ice.
April Fools and Ice.
Valentine’s Day and ice.
Halloween and ice.
We included as a bonus all the other non-holiday windows for Bergdorf Goodman Christmas 2013.
